I curate operational knowledge.

I’m Christopher Carroll. I organize the operational knowledge a company runs on so that it stays usable as people, systems, and procedures change.

My background is payments risk and fraud operations. In that work the analysis was rarely the difficult part. The difficulty was that the material needed to make a defensible decision sat in different places, a document, a dashboard, an investigation from the prior year, someone’s recollection, and assembling it reliably took longer than the decision did.

The turning point came after I watched a recurring operational question get reconstructed from scratch even though the underlying analysis had already been completed. The answer existed, but it was spread across an old report, an investigation, undocumented process knowledge, and the memory of the person who had handled it previously.

At some point I stopped treating that as friction and started treating it as the actual work: collecting operational knowledge, determining what is still true, and organizing it so that it holds up a quarter later. That is what DoubleCs does. The method is set out on the Corpus Curator page.
